Stevenson played a huge part in the completion of Stage One of the Sylvia Park shopping complex, providing a substantial amount of Styled Concrete™.Started in mid 2006 and completed by August of the same year, the area to the South of the overbridge was laid with around 8000m² of Stevenson’s decorative concrete.

Bricklayers AJ Russell were pleased with the result, considering the nature of the project was so challenging. During this time, the site was extremely busy, with hundreds of shops being fitted out, so it was important the project was on schedule. The team at Stevenson played a big part in the efficient delivery of the concrete, which was to feature prominently in the hard landscaping of Sylvia Park.

Two different colour mixes were used: Cinnamon Pebble, which was both honed and exposed; and Jack’s Mix, which was honed. AJ Russell Bricklayers’ General Manager, Graham Fairweather says; “the decorative concrete has played an integral part in creating the environment that was designed by landscape architects Isthmus. Sylvia Park is certainly an advertisement for what can be achieved architecturally with concrete.”
